Thumbnails with IrfanView
Freeware

You can find it here: http://www.irfanview.com/
This link will open a new window. To come back here, just close that window. :)

This is only one method - the easiest one. The thumbnails look like buttons when they're finished. A more complex method renders thumbnails without the button-like look. A tutorial for them will follow soon soon.

step 1

Go Files > Thumbnails. This will open another window.
step 2

Browse on the left to find the directory you want to make thumbnails in.
step 3

Go Options > Select All if you want thumbnails made of all the images in the folder. Otherwise select the ones you want by clicking on them and holding down Ctrl key at same time.
Then go File > Save selected thumbs as HTML file.
step 4

When the dialog box opens, be sure to browse to the correct folder for IrfanView to put your thumbnails. This would be the same one that the original images are in.
step 5

After you click the Ok button, Irfanview will make the thumbnails, put them in the directory and create an HTML file. The HTML file is full of things that will make it not work unless you do some major fixing up so you may not want to use that and can delete it.

PSPClass2 admin members:    Use the results template that you have to put the thumbs on the page and link to the larger images.
